Evaluation:

§                Final exam: 2 June 2009 (75% of the grade)
 
§                2 midterm exams: 2 dates out of 5 possible dates announced during the first week of class (20% of the grade) 
 
ü        During the first week of class 5 possible dates are announced. Those dates will be made official on the class web page and in Aula Global. 
ü        The 5 possible dates correspond to some of the dates when exercises are to be hended in.
ü        The 2 midterms will take place on 2 out of the 5 possible dates, but the exact 2 dates will not be announced in advance. 
ü        Each midterm will consist of solving one of the exercises which are due in class that same day.
ü        The 2 midterms are compulsory, and not doing them will result in getting 0 on that part of the grade. 
 
               POSSIBLE MIDTERM DATES FOR GROUP 65: 19 February, 12 March, 2 April, 23 April, 14 May
 
 
§                Problem sets (Exercises): the dates and exercises to be hended in will be announced on Aula Global and by email one week in advance (5% of the grade)
 
ü        Each problem sets will be graded out of 1 point. 
ü        Points will be awarded using the following scale: (a) problem set handed in and complete: 1 point; (b) problem set handed in but insufficient effort: 0.5 point; (c) problem set not handed in or handed in late: 0 points.
ü        Problem sets have to be handed before or at the beginning of class. Late handing in will be unaccepted. Students who cannot come to class should either hand in the problem sets with a classmate or get it to the professor or TA before the beginning of class.
